What our badges actually mean
A badge is a claim, so here is exactly what stands behind each one — what we checked, and what we didn't. Individuals and businesses are verified by different routes because they are different kinds of operations. Neither route is the lesser one.
Individual providers
This badge means the person:
- ✓ Verified their identity with us and consented to — and passed — a background check before approval
- ✓ Had their application personally reviewed and approved by our team — never by an algorithm
It does not mean HausDogs employs them, supervises each visit, or guarantees any outcome — providers are independent professionals.
Businesses & facilities
This badge means the business:
- ✓ Is a registered legal entity our team checked against its state registration
- ✓ Holds liability insurance we verified against its certificate of insurance — and the badge is withdrawn if the policy lapses
- ✓ Has staff whose professional credentials (training certifications, state licenses) we verified with the issuing body
Business staff are credentialed by outside certifying bodies rather than screened as individuals — a facility's trust rests on its entity, insurance, and credentials. Every verification is done by a person on our team and recorded: what was checked, where, and when. Credentials expire, so we track expirations and re-verify.
